Need help!
My brother is out in Wyoming with a 2005 6.0, truck runs fine and then will die, usually at lower speeds without as much airflow. Once it dies he gets the wrench on the dash and the scan tool won’t get connect, IT WILL NOT CRANK OVER , fuel pump won’t even come on. Open the hood for a few minutes, and it goes away back to normal.

One thing that is weird is he is getting a 2psi EBPS reading at idle and 25psi ya WOT, tried unplugging it after it died with no change.

-FICM is holding 48v
-Coolant temp right around 190
-Oil temp right around 200
-Alternator output right around 13.2 (reading from the alt post)
-Battery wires inspected and clean
-fan clutch plugged in and working

I’m at a stop here boys, where do I have him look next?

A short at the EBP sensor can cause a "no crank". Have you checked the wiring there? If wiring is ok, then try running w/ it disconnected.

Verify fuse F2.22 is seated properly.

Any 5 volt sensor can short out and cause this. Start unplugging!

Thanks guys, We checked the wiring at the EBP sensor and it looked good. We also unplugged it and it would not turn over. Could the short be a little higher up and cause that?

What other sensors should we be checking for shorts?

if you use the jumper on the passenger fender, will it crank over?

The batteries are charged, it starts 5 min later with no jump. If you jump the starter to the passenger battery it will turn over but not start.

I am pretty sure it’s the ECM at this point, we will have an update to come.
