What components are best to replace with aftermarket parts if a 6.7 engine rebuild becomes necessary. Any suggestions on how to make the process as painless as possible?

Also, if an engine has over 200,000 miles does it still make sense to rebuild it? The engine has never leaked any fluids and has always performed very well. It's still not leaking any fluids but it starts hard, idles rough and making some awful noises that sound like steel on steel. There could be other causes and I really hope it isn't the bottom end. I just want to be somewhat prepared if the engine needs rebuilding.

63mm Single Turbo, Dual Fuel pumps, FASS 200 and midwest comp trans.

Weld the cam and crank gears if you do a rebuild. For internals I would stick with OEM except upgrade the rods.

Or, use you current engine as a core and get a Ford long block.

Call jared at Midwest and discuss options

Highly suggest putting rod bolts in if you go with a Ford reman, Jasper, reviva, etc...
