If anyone wants a full rawtek exhaust I'll let one go for 800. Never installed. I'll throw in 5-6 quarts of mobile 1 507 oil and some weather tech floor mats

resurrection from the dead.... HOWEVER

I'm looking at picking up a lower mileage 2009 Auto CHEAP. Car has 105k, no info on timing belt, full maintenance records.

What do I need to know about this year?

Is that really what a belt job cost!? Iím losing interest... dude canít produce DSG service records or know when the timing belt was done last.

Iíll keep looking for a decent mileage ALH 5 speed.

Timing belt may never have been done yet. Itís a 100k mile service item.

I didnít think it was that much, even if a shop did it. I bought a complete kit as well as necessary tools to do it it for well under $500

Its the labor that makes the job so expensive

The dsg is a good transmission. If it shift good now and the fluid isnt smoked I'd buy it if it was cheap enough.

Some of the 09's had the emissions recall which could play a factor in the price you negotiate.

I had an 09 and it only got about 35 in town and 40 on the highway.

My current 5 speed ALH gets 47 in town and 52 on the highway and I bought it for 600 needing an alternator and tires.

If you can find a ALH its the way to go when buying a tdi but dont pass up any tdi if its cheap enough. They're are good cars

Yes sir. Labor is ridiculous at a shop. You can find qualified individuals on the TDI forums that can do it for less. Last I heard there was a guy in Houston that charged 800 in labor only. I was fortunate enough to have my 13 Passat Bought back at 90k miles.
