Regen cycle 2017 6.7

How do you know when your truck is going through a regen cycle? Is it bad to shut the truck off when/if it's going through the cycle? Should I buy a little scanner that tells me or does it alert me on the dash. At 11k miles, I have t seen anything pop up that the truck is going through the cycle. Thanks

I was wondering the same thing. My wife's 08 used to tell you before we removed that bazooka lookin thing out from underneath. Sometimes I think I can hear it, and I definitely smell it sometimes when getting out of the truck.

I added the *** filter status through the ForScan software and check it every now and then.

Its better to not shut it off during regen but your truck will just regen when the filter gets full again

Watch your MPG, they will drop significantly when going through regen.

I'd imagine the new trucks smell like mine used to when it was regen-ing. It was absolutely awful but you knew it was happening.
