Everyone,

I've been racking my brain doing hours of searching on this forum, others, & Google. Can't really find a positive yes. I want to maintain 17in rims. Most of what I have seen has people with 20in rims. Retailers basically say "We can't ensure fitment since it's not an OEM size.

I have a 2012 F-250 Powerstroke with the Fx4 package, so it sits level from the factory... at least it looks that way.

I'm wanting a tire that sits around 2-3 inches wider & is a bit taller. Ultimately want 35inx12.5in R17 to be on the truck with no rubbing issues but I will need a lift for that & plan to get one in the future. I'm going to need tires soon, & wanted to do wheels & tires now, then put the 35inx12.5in tires on with a lift at the end of the year when I wear the set I plan to buy soon out.

Currently have 285 70 R17 (32.7inx11.2in) on the factory wheels & have no issues at all. Was thinking of going to the wheels & one of the tires below. 315 70 R17 (34.4inx12.4in) or 305 70 R17 (33.8inx12in). Can't find an answer if they will give me problems are not. I'm thinking no they won't on paper, but don't want to spend $2000 & mess up the tires quickly!

Rims would be 17x9 with a 18mm offset.

If my math is correct, the rim will sit about 1.5in farther out than the factory one... basically the additional with from the factory goes out. Then take the addition tire width, divide in half, then add it getting the total amount extra it will stick out.

Am I over thinking & the 35inx12.5in with these XD rims fit the truck fine?

As always, I appreciate any help.

OEM 17" wheels should be 17x8. 20" wheels are an OEM size in 20x8.

+18mm offset should keep it close to stock backspacing and give it a tad push outside the wheel well. 305 70 R17 should fit better without lift for now.

Thanks, that's the way I was leaning to be on the safe side. I wish there were KO2's in that size... I've been using them forever.

So, I ended up getting a real good deal on a 2.5in Readlift SST kit. Going to be $400 installed. Also ordered XD Monster II wheels with 35x12.5 R18. Can't wait to get it all in & see how it looks!

Does that come with a trac bar or trac bar bracket drop?

Well, everything was put on today. Set me back ~$2,500 out the door.

Glad I just went with the ReadyLift 2.5in SST kit. Because I got such a good deal on the lift kit, it actually came out to just a little bit more than getting a 305 75 R18 tire.

Thanks everyone for the help!
