I don’t know a whole lot but the 6.4 is a fun motor for play - just not for what you’re planning to do with it. You need a built 6.0 or a newer 6.7 for reliability reasons. Let the flames began :)

We work on a ton of hotshot trucks from our forest service, quite a few are 6.4s, and are a major pain in the ass to work on, and they fail quite often. Majority of them are backup trucks for the 6.7 and cummins trucks. They are currently in the process of phasing most of them out, and i think there is only 1 or 2 6.0s left. Dont know if that helps your decision at all, but good luck.

Most of the ones that are chase trucks like you seem to be looking at, are gassers around here.

They found a 6.0 with the egr gone, salesman told them that was the only problem 6.0 had. Only had 239k on the clock.

Well I found these local, 2011 F350, 157k for $25k

And this one '11 350, 96k for $27k

Found a few others all with around 100k on the clock, all same to be around the same price just 2-3 hrs up the road.

Good prices for those with the mileage? Would over 100k miles be to much for 6.7?we won't put many on it.

100k is definitely not too much mileage but man, that's pricy imo

is a 350 enough truck for what you wat to do? I ask cause we run 250 gallon tanks, which seems pretty standard on most brush setups. Fill that plus a pump, hose, hand tools, saws, and all the other gear and you add up pretty fast. We run 550's for our brush trucks.
