Figured its about time to start a thread for this girl. I'm a ford guy, yet I have always had a soft spot for the classic Chevy's. So in highschool I bought my own classic. A 1971 C-20, very clean, lower milage CA. truck with factory a/c. I wanted factory 4x4, but being that I lived in MI, all I found was swiss cheese. So I settled for a 2wd. Original plan was just to convert it to 4wd and toss in a BBC that I had. I drove it both jr/sr year as it was until the original SBC dropped compression in 2 cylinders. Then one night on eBay I found a good deal on a 12v and that's where it began. I'll have to dig through my old phone and my Facebook for some pictures of the build to its current status. But this is what it looked like this summer at Silver Lake.

Oh and here's one of the 4-linked wagon Dad and I built for my 2 year old son.

Love that truck... My dad had one when I was a kid and I had hoped to get it... no dice.

Thanks man. My Dad used to own an off road shop in the 80's/ 90's he's got a '79 Scottsdale show truck that used to be the tallest short box in the country at one point in time. It has been on the cover of Peterson's Off Road Magazine and had 2 or 3 inside article wrote on it. He and that truck are the main inspiration behind this build. God I loved going to truck shows as a kid.

Thanks man. Its half ass completed now ass seen in the 1st pic. But that's with a 12v and a 5speed. Im currently building a p-pump 24v for it. And it will most likely get a built 47rh behind that....unless I get a wild hair and let my ford pride take over then it would get. BTS 4R100 lol

I have a C30 that had a Cummins in it, 4x4, and was a dually. The chassis was hacked together by the previous owner and I have it stripped down now. Its likely going to end up on a late model Ford chassis with a flatbed.

Here are some pics:

Local diesel shop did some work on the engine before I put it in the truck. And they forgot the oil pickup tube gasket. 1st start up = no oil pressure. I wasn't happy to say the least. Had to tear it back down to install one.

Cummins sure are proud of that logo. Throttle linkage cost a ton.

Old school drop bumper I found for it. Might get a roll pan instead.

You sure do get some funny looks pulling up to the green handle.

Ford Kingpin D60, corp 14 bolt 10.5 ring gear rear end, & Np241hd t-case. No more Chevy side axle or t-case. Talk about a tight fitting exhaust! Gonna do 4.10 gears, a rebuild kit and a locker in the rear axle. Any one have suggestions on what brand locker? I'm thinking Yukon or Detroit. The front will get a full rebuild. And they both will be sand blasted and painted before install.

The start of the p-pump 24v build.

I guess the previous owner needed a piston and rod before he sold it to me.

He was kind enough to leave the rod cap and bolts though. SMH
