I just wanted to kinda tally up who's had rod issues in a mid-high hp 6.0. A lot of guys have been having good luck as of late and thought it would be nice to have all success stories and failures in one thread. If it's a dyno queen nobody cares :p

Thanks guys.

Bent a rod and had a couple Pistons slap valves, sprayen the heck out of it at the track. Went 8.1 with 175/100 injectors and studded motor bent rods on the second pass

i bent a rod at rudys in march, spun bad hit the rev limiter, went 7.46@96. . im sure that didnt help things, drove truck home the same day too!! knocking like a biatch!!!! but when we rebuilt the motor with a good set of rods, the identical set up that bent OEM rod, MPH at track put the truck at 934 rwhp.

i think the mid 800s is high as u wana go on a OEM rod, some may last longer than others, i just feel they will all let go over time at that power level.

ill see if i can get someone to post a pix of rod & piston for me

i either have a wrist pin that let loose, or bent rod, currently too frustrated to take the truck apart to find out why. 06 with 65k no consistent dyno results but i put the setup in the 650-700 range

mines been 650-700ish for almost 2 years. Stock rods. 170k miles. Knock on wood. Don't really drive it much anymore, but it used to get the **** kicked out of it

I had a rod exit the block on me with the Punisher truck. '04.5, about 650ish at the wheels with the juice, 550ish without. When it broke I had the cruise control set at about 78mph, was actually on the way to the track, lol. There were so many different hands and stuff in that truck though that I wouldn't even want to speculate on what would've caused it.

It did have a couple passes at the track before that though. LOL Probably 150ish, then was at a shop for a little over a year. Picked it up and it happened on the first trip out to the track.

Now the ZMBYKLR truck is/was at about 750ish to the wheels with da juice. No rod issues at all with it. I went ahead and had some Hypermax rods put in with the new setup though.

Also depends on the turbo setup. Singles may survive at 800 but I know compound trucks that have bent or spit rods at much lower hp levels.
