SCT monitoring

Anyone know how accurate the eot and ect readings are when monitoring from the SCT X3?

Yes u can datalog with it eric. As far as accuracy I'm not sure but I have used it to check eot/ect on trucks I or a buddy have gone to look at and it appears to be pretty good. Checked it on a truck with a brand new oil cooler and eot/ect were within 5* during the test drive. Checked another truck with 100k on the oil cooler and they were 12-15* apart. Curious to see if anyone has actual ect/eot gauges that they could compare it to.

Mine stayed around 10-12* apart with almost 180k on the clock. Is this good, bad, or ugly.

not horrible but its getting up there, mine never got 7 degrees apart, i hear 15 degrees apart in when it starts getting real ugly

how fast were you going at 10-12 delta?

mine runs around 10-11 at 75 mph when ive been cruising for a while.

have you tuned it yet?

That was on the race tune cruising around 50 mph. Guessing it's time for an oil cooler?

yea check it at around 65 after about 10 minutes or so on the highway.

Should I be checking it on the stock tune, the race tune, or both?

Shouldnt matter. you can try it stock and see

Well I went and did some data logging on both stock and hybrid race tunes. I let the truck warm up completely and drove around about 10 mins before I hit the highway. Then I drove 65 mph for approx 10 mins and then recorded data.

Stock @ 65 mph
ect-176*
eot-189.63*

Hybrid Race @ 65 mph
ect-172*
eot-181.95

Is it normal for the 2 to be closer in the race tune than on the stock tune? Hoping I can make it until I can get the oil cooler and egr done.

Your doing good for now. No need to rush to do the cooler yet.
