So lately our big project has been Superduty axle swapping our OBS truck and putting 05+ front end in it. this build is going pretty well and almost done now. i thought some pictures of the build would be pretty cool and see what you guys think. The truck has a 8" pro comp lift and will be running 37" Nitto trail grapplers with 20"x12" Specialty Forged SF010 wheels. They will be the first set of 20" wheels made by them and will be rolling on the truck to the Bloomsburg 4x4 Jamboree in July. we had to make our own trac bar bracket out of an 8" Rize industries lift kit and we have to do a little machining to make the bracket work properly. The 05 rear end bolted right in to the existing springs with no changes at all. We only had to put 1 step fitting to make the existing truck brake lines to the superduty axle.

Curious to see this all done. The only thing keeping me from doing the 05 stuff is the coils taper way too much for my liking. My opinion is the axle need to be narrowed just a bit. I'm thinking the pass side could be cut down to make the coils sit straight in the buckets. Lots of work but I think it would be the right way to do it. I measured a 05 and the obs frame and it was free far off. I guess you could also space the coil buckets out?

Isint the taper backwards suppose to be to make bumps less harsh ? Or are you talking about the difference in width. Not front to rear.

Agreed on the 05+ box. But the 08+ box had a tendency to crack I've heard.

Looks like a good project, its nice to see more of the 05+ swaps going on, and how everyone does theirs.

Question though, why non-adjustable radius arms?

Can you post some more pics or provide a little more insight on how much that track bar bracket had to be modified? I used a 6" pro comp bracket and I'm not 100% happy with the outcome. Looking for alternatives.

Not the best pic but only one I have from when we mocked it up.
