June 23rd my truck decided it only needed 6 rods inside the block! Started tear down that weekend. What a mess it had made as well. Picked plenty of parts up off the road going back a few hundred feet lol. Just picked up my m
Midwest built option 2 long block and street trans a week ago. Prepped and painted the block, valve covers, and compressor housing “old ford blue”. Painted the engine mounts black, and plan to do some painting in the engine bay as well.

Smart to always bump it down when towing heavy. Mine was typically always on 5

I'm thinking on grades towing might be worth holding it in 4/5 and spin faster up hills rather then letting it stay in 6th locked and lug up the hill like I've been doing on cruise control. Boost just raises usually doesn't ever downshift.

I thought anything was safe with stock fuel... Seeing how some people are running dual fuelers with stock blocks
Hope the '17s hold up more to the abuse

Not always safe, timing is hard on rods too, not just fuel or air. This thing took plenty of abuse for a stock engine/stock trans truck.
