looking at a 6.0l

Hey guys I'm thinking about trading in my obs I found a cheap 6.0 and was wonder if high miles were bad its got 167k on it auto... truck looks good all high way miles... I love my obs but it would be nice to have a "nice" truck I don't want a lot of power just a chip maby here's a link

Nice looking truck.. How many miles do you drive a week?

I run around 50 65 miles at the most

Yes 8 miles round trip to work lol it blue books at 16k

As long as it has been taken of I wouldn't have a problem buying it.. Mine is an 03 with 163K on it and it drives like new but I stay on top of all maintenance.. If it has been taken care of, there is no reason why it shouldn't go 300K.. You mention in your opening post you may consider adding a chip, IMO, adding power to a 6.0 that is 8-9 years old is asking for trouble unless your willing to put some money in the truck..

Adding a chip would be after an egr delete and studs I've never owned an auto either

That truck looks really clean inside and out for an 03.. The asking price is a little high..
I bought my 03 F-350 CCLB dually with 130K two years ago for 11K cash no trade but it needed a 2K rearend.. I think 12K is about right for that truck as long as it runs the way it should..

My biggest problem is that my obs has 214k on it its not worth anything to any one lol and its an xl model lol

There is allways a market for a diesel truck that runs.. Farm use, ect...

I have an 05 which I hear are a little better than the early 6.0's but I believe that every year has thier duds.

So far the only real issues I've had is a bad FICM and had to replace the ac compressor.

I bought the truck in '08 with 133k for 18k. Had an SCT running Eric's extreme race for the most part since about 150k miles.

From my research I found that 03 have the better egr out of the 2 older years but idk I'm an obs guy lol I think it would be nice to have a newer nicer truck lol

The 03-04 EGR cooler is better than 05-07 but, if your going to delete it, then the newer truck is better.. 03-04 had injector issues, wire harness chaffing and the ICP is in back of the motor not on the valve cover.. IMO, the only thing better about the 03 is the round cooler and the turbo..

Thats a nice looking truck, if it was well taken care of I would buy it in heart beat. I love my 6.0l and I have 155,000.0 and drive 80 miles a day in it. I have to drop some money into, but thats just way it is. Nice truck

I have an 03 too and I love it. It had 126K when I bought and it has a little over 134K I believe. But I like it, it has never gave me problems. Except the FICM crapped out on me 2 weeks after I bought it but since(November 2010) then it's been trouble free!

I found another 6.0, same miles just regular cab and an xl model its pretty cheap they want 7 for it... I'm gonna go take a look at it tomorrow what should I look for? Any I deas on what I should ask for my obs? its an 03 auto all stock

Ps... I like xl's I like the simple desing of them just add nice seats lol
