also it looks like it relocates the oil filter as well... that's a nice setup.

hold up... I have never seen that fitting for the oil filter housing to allow 2 hoses for connecting to a external air/oil cooler. I have seen the BPD external but it removes the whole oil cooler. Where can I find some info on this? is it new? thanks.

Read the whole thread.....but here are some answers.

I designed and built it, it is the only one like it out there, and I’ve been running it for almost a year.
It is set up, and designed to piggyback onto the factory cooler and work as an auxiliary, and is not intended to bandaid a factory setup that has high deltas when running empty.
As an auxiliary it uses a 215* thermostat, and was designed to add heat shedding capability for towing heavy.
I’m sure it could be run as a stand alone if I eliminated the factory cooler and put a 185* thermostat on it, but I haven’t done that yet.
It keeps all the factory filters, and could be run on an engine that has the egr still on it.
Some of the parts are available off the shelf, quite a number are not.

Stopped looking, now looking again and also wondering if the 6.4l can be included. I originally preferred the lower entry cost of the 7.3l and the 6.0l but now the 6.4ls are losing value. I know they had more power stock but also had their share of reliability issues like the 6.0l. Did the aftermarket catch up and provide all t hat the 6.4l needed to be strong AND reliable?
The issues I have heard/known from them are.
Prolong idle clogs up emissions and dilutes oil
Excessive regens dilutes oil and kills fuel useage
Diluted oil contributed to high valve train wear and failure (rockers)
Cracked pistons (not sure why)
Cracked radiators because of frame flex and plastic design
Anything more???

You can never get a 6.4 to the same level of reliability as a 7.3, 6.0, or 6.7.
I’d either run a well built 6.0, or save up for a 6.7. Preferably a 15+, maintain it well, and leave it basically stock.

Just get a 6.6 anything and be done. LMM should be in your price range
