Well I'm stumped again. I decided to buy some king ranch 20" wheels for the Excursion. After a test the the back space/offset was greater than my stock 16's. As I researched on here I saw where member "08twinturbo" did the same and used hub-centric spacers. I did this as well and the front turned out great. Now for the rest I can't get them past my axle cover. I'm so pissed. Now I look like a Chevy like my friend said, wide in the front. Narrow in the rear. Lol

Has anyone else had this problem?

I started to remove the axle but gave up. Maybe I'll just get wheels that are correct and toss these.

Thoughts?

what spacers did you get? I had no issues getting them on over the hub carriers on the truck and they fit perfectly. Ive heard of issues where some spacers required secondary machining for the carrier, but it should not be required. 08twinturbo didn't do any machining that I recall.

on edit; where I got my spacers.. https://www.motorsport-tech.com/bora.html

Other than the tolerance issue they seem to be made well.
I wonder if there is a rear axle difference between 2wd and 4wd, doubt it.

I forgot I had a pic, but heres the Boras when I got them. The hubcentric flange is chamfered slightly and just a little larger ID. The fastener bores are also much further in from the OD of the spacer. With yours , notice how thin the wall is on the outside of the spacer to hub fastener bore.. may be ok, but this 'meat' needs to support everything.

Ive been very pleased my spacers, have about 5K miles on them and most of it pulling 10K trailer-- Held lug torque great and no issues so far.

I guess it's about comparing the products and not making these spacers permanent. If you had to do this on the side of the road it wouldn't be fun.

Thanks for the help Mandkole and Rosspulliam. My buddy suggested heating as well like on a ring gear.
Anyway it's hitting right at the end right at the lip.

I have 4 options. Take some off the spacer, take some off the hub, remove axle or just buy some correct wheels.

I'm leaning towards the wheels I just like polished aluminium and all they have these days are mostly PVD and black.

start with shaving a bit from the ID of the spacer. You've already bought the spacers, so leave the axle alone. I did a lot of research before buying spacers but Im still planning to check them every so often. I love the factory 20s

I too love the OEM's....

Well the eBay seller said that since my axle stuck out more that 1.75 past the hub fast these won't fit. Looks like I'm stuck with them. I'm worried about centring on the lugs if I machine off the clashing material.

In other news I lost my tranny pulling the boat. :(
I'm going to post on my options. I would be greatly appreciative to anyone with upgraded trans leads.

Spacers for 20" OEM wheels

Well I had some beef with eBay guy and decided to just open these up. If anyone wonders you need 122mm to clear the axle cap. That left me about a 3mm thick concentric ring to center the wheel on. They went on tight. There wasn't any slop between the hub OD and the spacer. I had to even sand on it a little to get it seated. I'm pleased.

Well I finally got my 35's on here. Pretty pumped about them. Has anyone cut, trimmed or pushed back this inner aft plastic fender area? I've seen it cut on some other forums but I thought I would ask everyone here. Im rubbing some.

Lots of people have trim the inner fender. Depending on how you want it to look you can either cut/trim till no rubbing. Or you can take a heat gun and warm up the plastic and mold it far enough back to clear. Also could make a slit in it the plastic and use zip ties to hold back the inner liner. If you live in a area that uses salt in the winter I would recommend using a heat gun so no salt can get in the fenders. Also gives a cleaner look.

That heat gun might work nice. Thanks for the feedback. It's like 4 inches of nothing behind it.
