So every winter ive had this damn bike i tear it down and paint, cut, build and otherwise rape and pillage this thing. This year i have decided to document said endeavor right here on the Army.

In the summer of 2012 i decided i wanted to get on a bike again and for some god awful reason i wanted an HD this time. Wtf i was thinking idk. This was the bike the first week i had it.

2003 XL883r with a ****tily done 1200 conversion and a terrible carb tune. Yes that is powder coat on the tins, also very ****ty and was put on y thick and not baked right.

Right away i cleaned the carb, put in a 180 main and 45 slow jetting and it actually ran pretty f'n strong. It leaked like a sieve from the base gaskets tho.

Fast forward to winter of 2012, rebuilt top end of motor, removed a ton if unneeded sheet metal and the pesky speedo, went with drag bars and removed all lights except the headlight. I put tiny LED up under the fender for running, brake and turns. The tank is a whole other story. Cliffs notes are. I dropped it, the dent looked slightly like an evil eye socket, i made it look like an eye socket with a 24oz framing hammer and then dented the other side to match lofl. Painted a new schoolish WW2 bomber nose art sceme and rolled with it.
All the paint is either ACE hardware rust stop (black) or plasticoat.

Fast forward to last night and i started stripping her down again. This time im gonna try and go with either a NHRS 1250 kit or if the cylinder walls are still ok ill most likely just pick up a set of ported SE 1200 heads or XB 1200 heads. Looking for a solid 100 HP on the ground. Ill probly get a new tank also. Lol
