Shouldn't be an issue if the truck doesn't have abs. If it was the other way around, truck had abs and axles didn't, the light would be on the dash. Should be ok to do it the way you want.

Going to look at and probably buy tow mirrors and a tailgate for the old truck tomorrow. Everything is coming off a 04 ccsb lariat, one question is the mirrors have heat and turn signals which I don't have, I just have power adjust and manual telescope, will these 04 mirrors still plug in and work? Mirrors and a clean dent free tailgate that is black in color just what I need for 300 bucks, seems like a really good deal to me If they are honestly represented.

It'll be fine cutting the wires off like that. If you want riffraff diesel makes a fitting that bolts in place of the sensor that has a grease fitting on it I think.

Mirrors and axles are in the future for mine as well. How much did the axles cost you? I just want to find an 03 or 04 Dana60 to sawp in. I want to reuse my 2000 steering knuckle since I have Dynatrac ball joints I want to keep.

Nice truck btw.

Rascal, I think I got real lucky with my axles, came out from under a 2004 with 90k on it that never pulled a thing in its life. Bought mine for 500 bucks, thanks for the comment on the old truck, it is definitely a 50 footer right now but come spring that will change, 800 bucks for a running driving truck isn't bad though.

Running into another problem here, have a pretty good oil leak coming from the dipstick tube to oil pan assembly. Have heard of people taking the big nut lose when they change oil and cleaning everything really well and using gasket maker and run a bead around and tighten it back down and let it set for a few days and solve the problem, anybody recommend this practice or tried it?
