Well after 80k of abuse it decided to give up.

Going to be taking it over to Nate at Unlimited Diesel to figured out exactly what happened this time but it don't sound good. Everything was just fine and 2 days ago driving down the high way it started making a small pinging noise almost like an exhaust leak... another 4 miles down the road it got louder and i realized it wasn't an exhaust leak so i turned around and headed back to the house... made it about 1/2 mile from home and it sounded like something was going to come into the cab with me and it died. Pulled her home with the tractor and oil is EVERYWHERE. I was looking all over for a new window view for the rods but couldn't find anything or were the oil was coming from.

All I know is him not happy :cursing:

Trey it's great to see you posting! Hope the holidays were awesome for you and your family.

Regrettably it could be a better topic, hope it gets resolved quickly.

Yes I believe I was one of the first. Just don't think the bottom end I got held up. I will be sure to post up what broke.

80k is what I got out of my last junkyard motor... At about 50k on this one now...

Yeah this bottom end was a wonderful South Houston Engine short block :doh:

Might be until summer till I fix it. I just bought a 6.4 for a good truck and turning this one into a work truck.

Sounds like the 6.4 I have sitting in the driveway. Bought it that way. Haven't pulled the motor to check it out yet.

Little update... pulled the motor and dropped the oil pan and found the crank broke in half. I'm very surprised it still ran. The motor is not at Unlimited Diesel getting a new crank and bearinga and a once over before it gets put back in the truck. Will post pictures tomorrow.

Sorry was on my phone last night. The motor is now with Nate and Ben at Unlimited to get a new crank and bearings.

So got the motor back and put back in the truck. Got it fired up after some long cranking.... weby to drive around the block and made it about 2 miles and it died. Now when I crank on it I am only getting 10psi of oil pressure and it won't fire back up. Any ideas?
