There is a continued interest in mechanically injected 7.3 Powerstrokes - so I am building this sticky to contain as much information as possible on the subject and maybe some of the guys actually building them can share some info.

Lets get the fun and easy stuff out of the way - pictures:

Couple questions cause I'm ignorant. Are those exhaust temp probes for every cylinder and why?

What ball park price to do this and would it be insane to do it for a street truck?

I talked to Ben miller, owner of double overtime at scheids in 09'. He does have temp probes from every cylinder, and based on temperature will switch out a different sized nozzle or jet for water injection.

Most people have been saying 40-50k for a running motor but I have never priced it out myself.

So your saying the nozzles could be different in each cylinder depending on how its doing. Interesting.

100k sure ill write a check....

I bet the cost would be higher yet. Just a motor to hold up to a potential 2k horsepower. Jaw-dropping.

Here is Roy's truck - I sold him the rolling chassis and he did all this:

It has billet rods from Wipe Out Enterprises, JE custom cut and hard anodized pistons. Custom ground cam from TFS Performance. Heads machined for these runners, and machined to accept Jessel roller lifters. Manton pushrods. Custom billet roller rockers. Injection pump and 8.3 cummins injectors from Fair Valley Performance. They are opened up to .120, dual fed bodies, and custom tips. Block is filled and girdled. DT466 valves, pinned valve seats. Heads ported and polished. Block machined for 9/16 head studs. Fire rings. Mallory internally balanced. And we are probably going to dry sump it. Custom 321 stainless log headers and up pipes from Fab Shop Headers. And a custom HX 60 from either Harts Diesel or Robbins Turbo. Thats about it. Ohhh and a dual core, air to water intercooler from Persycon, and it is water injected

Sweet thread, I wish there were more mechanically injected 7.3's out there, but not many die hard Ford guys have that kind of $$$.
