Default Cab rust, best option

My cab is starting to rust including the rocker panels and the cab corner. Would it be easier to weld new panels and replace everything or would it be easier just to swap cabs with the rust free 1. I will be doing all the work so it won't be a shop but does anyone have any experience replacing the Rockers?

I thought that the body shops actually glue the cab corners in now so they don't rust out right away like when you weld them in.
