So jealous. Shop project in 8th grade. My Grandpa gave me a hunk of brass 36 inches long and 10 inch diameter. I made a cannon on the lathe. It fired a 12 gauge round of your choice. We tested it on the school football grounds.

Speaking of... You guys see that newer Russian video of the guy going for a ride in a lathe 2x the size of that one?

That's awesome Andy! I would love to make a cannon if I can find the taper attachment for mine. Not that it has to have the taper, but it would look cooler.

I don't want to see that. Lol! This lathe has a 20 hp motor in a 16.5" by 30" capacity. That is enough to destroy you.

I'm half tempted to just source a 5hp motor to put in there. Not sure how much safer it would be. Lathes can just be nasty no matter the size.
