I once had the airbags go off and have since replaced them but have always had the airbag light on the truck on. Is there anything else I need to replace/reset to get rid of the light and so the airbags work properly?

You will need to replace the RCM to do it per factory recommendations. Myairbags.com can reset the RCM but again, this is not a factory recommendation. I have personally used them to reset the RCM and repair the seat belt pre tensioners on a 2001 Grand Marquis. Do your seat belts still function? If not the pre tensioners deployed. Again, the factory recommendation is to replace the seat belts if that happened. Before I get flamed, I am the only one that drives that 2001 Mercury and I am responsible for my own actions. The air bag light is off and no codes exist. The car will go to the scrap yard when I am done with it. Just letting the OP know you do have options.
