Finally went and picked up my '17 and started getting some parts installed. PMF 3 link, icon 2.5 coils, fox shocks all around, 20x12 with 35x13.50. Next up its headed to get the final fitment for the utility bed, once I get it back I'll start getting all the chrome color matched. Fender emblems black and truck color, bumper PTM, and the only thing I'm unsure of is the grille. Do I do the shell PTM and the bars black or vise versa?

Awesome looking work truck! Any rubbing with that wheel/tire setup?

Yea I had to trim the back of the fender and front valance. Just ordered a 2wd valance so hopefully it won't be as noticeable when I trim that. It still rubs a tiny bit when I'm at full lock pulling in the driveway.

Did you buy a cab and chassis or did you take the bed off?

Just got a C&C. On my '11 I just ordered a loaded lariat and took the bed off but ended up wasting like $10k or whatever the insane price difference is between a C&C and full truck.

That's pretty lame honestly. boast about this super fantastic hulk strength frame, then use a weaker one on the work trucks that need a strong chassis.

huh? it isn't weaker....how many c&c trucks do you hear of with the 45mph hop? I'm darn thankful to hear that they kept the c-channel frame for strength!

Weaker design, sorry. I forgot the C&C is a completely different frame from the standard pickups. But still. if the new frame is so much stronger than the old generation, wouldn't it be stronger than the C&C frame?

Channel frame also makes it easier to mount whatever you want to the frame. I'm sure it's stronger than the boxed frames anyways.

Generally speaking, all manufactures comply to the same specs with respect to certain aspects, frame width, pre-drilled mounting points, wiring locations, etc. to make it easier, safer, etc. This allows body builders to make their product universal fitting. Industry standard. Vehicle manufactures prefer that the frames are untouched and just secured to.
