it gets messy doesn't it ?
the F 450 for some years was ten lug then then 8x170 for a few but i am not sure they had the wide track for those years

the F 350 dually is 8x170 mm

i need to keep notes LOL anyway I appreciate the list !
All '11 thru '14 F-450 "PICKUPS" were a 8 Lug wide track truck.

thanks and i meant to post the wide track was either ten lug or 8x200mm (never 170mm)

i know they went 8 lug when they stoppped using the Dana 110 and used an D80 rear

essentially cutting the balls off the 450

Gear box STG-285

Left outer tie rod 8C3Z-3A131-C

Right outer tie rod 8C3Z-3A131-B

Tie rod adjust tube 8C3Z-3281-D

Drag link end HC3Z-3A131-B

Drag link 8C3Z-3304-D

Pitman arm 8C3Z-3590-D

Damper 8C3Z-3E651-E

Would these fit on a regular 2016 DRW F350?

What exactly makes the axle a wide track? Makes the truck turn better?

I drove my friend's 2016 F550 C&C mason dump and it definitely turned better.

Wide track are the 450 and up width front axle overall better turning radius.

That's what we're trying to figure out, wide track swap from 2016 tow boss 350 or 08 350 tow boss "fat boy".

Possibly even 11-14 450s (since they essentially are the same 8 lug wide track axle that the tow boss 350s used, I believe).

That list are the 350 wide track specific steering components that I narrowed down from a 08.

Yes. Swapping the entire axle. The housing is wider than the regular 350 axle. It's a Dana super 60 whereas the 350 is just a Dana 60.

you will see conflicting reports on what is a dana "super 60"
it will appear in many documents as the dana super 60 is the 05 up dana used on even 250

the wide track is also a dana super 60 but wider and has other parts that are different like the knuckles and axle yoke , u joints thet let the radius swing more than normal

So the axle tubes/inner axles are longer. I would have to assume (I know) that the "C"s are the same on the regular and wide track axles.

What exactly is the difference in the knuckles? Im going to venture that the tab where the tie rod attaches is longer to give it more turning angle. What prevents someone putting the F450 knuckles onto the F350 axle?

On edit: I looked on Rock Auto for a 2016 truck, the knuckles are the same for a F350 and F450 (not C&C).

Called "Fat Boy" for short, the Class 4 suspension used a larger and wider axle and stabilizer bar, beefier coil springs, and stronger linkage arms and knuckles that gave the one-ton F-350 more capability than one with the stock Class 3 twin-coil narrow track front suspension. It also shrank the F-350's turning radius to 50 feet, vs. 56 feet for the standard F-350.
