Removing chrome from gender vents

Has anyone used muriatic acid and hydrogen peroxide to rove the chrome from plastic? From what I've read this seems to be the most effective method short of blasting them. Just wanted to see if anyone else has tried it.

If you remove the gender vents no one will know if the truck is male or female...lol
Seriously my guys that do powder coating have some bad acid that will remove it, I will ask them what it's called. It will remove skin also.

The stuff they use I'd called b17 he says it will eat plastic, if exposed long.

Easy off oven cleaner supposedly works also.

Couldn't find that B17 stuff in anything smaller than a few gallon container, and I heard the oven cleaner only works on lightly chromed parts like hotwheels and son toys and such. I'll text some different things out and see what works.
