Ok, here is a thread that we will update the basics of how to do it

The first picture is of a basic table, as you can see in the top left corner there is one table highlighted in the map, this is what will be changed by what you input to the function, you can simply highlight some or all of the map. Or you can simply push the graph key and bring up the 3d map view of the table, and you can select tables based in the map (picture 2)
You can see the blue dots in the grap, each one of these points is what will be highlighted in the map

Now once you get the points you want to change pinpointed you will need to actually make changes. So now you need to know what each function does

Offset- this will let you basically offset plus or minus whatever you put in eg: current value 5, input value 8 change in table = 13
Current value 5, input value -8, change in table = -3

multiply, just as it says, it will multiply the value by whatever your input is, this is handy if you want to say raise back pressure 10%, just input 1.10 into the value and it will raise it 10%

Divide, same as multiply but works with division

Copy frm cpmt, this will input a value from a compareson table, i will get into this later on how to compare, and copy info from a different tune.

fill w/value, just as it states, whatever you put in the value box will show up on the tavble.

Smooth, when you select multiple tables that dont run together smooth and you would like them to, select a group and hit smooth (this is where the graph view is nice) you can hit the smooth several times untill it gets where you are happy with it. Selecting differnt parts of the graph and smoothing them and blending them together.

Configuration/temp

From what i have seen so far, that most of the full temp, normal opperation temperatures are 0, there are different configurations that im not 100% sure on.

I will be honest, at this point i dont know what allot of the temp tables are, what I have been noticing is most people either only change the 0 temp tables or they change all the tables to be the same.

Me personally i would rather have some of the factory or h&s safetys built in.


Another way to find what temperature or configuration is to make some value that is used in opperation a distinctive number so you can start to lable them in the notes of what they do.

A good example of this would be rail pressure tables, change the idle rail to something like 7000 or 6500, just something that you can remember and note.

Shift on the fly changes

Allot of you have asked what changes on the shift on the fly

Really... there is not much. About the only thing that changes is the pulse width tables, you will see in the picture attatched that there is the injection pulse stock, mild, wild, and hot.

This is great info for starters. Download the factory files from H&S and compare. This is a great tool for what has been changed and whether or not your going to push it way out from factory spec.

Rivets are the new duct tape.

Go to the upper menu to the compare icon. Select load tune. Browse the tune file and then check the box you have selected.

Next select the compare bin data icon in the sub menu. This shows the factory graph.

From there you can select the compare difference icon. This will show you the plus or minus difference between the two.

From your compared tune you can change your function to cpy frm cmpr. Value 0 to keep it the same. Highlight the entire graph or what you what to change and hit execute. This will pull the graph from your compared tune and transfer it to the tune you are building.

Desired Exhaust Back Pressure Tables

I have been trying to figure out what "Hot Engine" 1, 2, 3, etc. By testing my exhaust brake programs, here is what I have learned so far:
Changing all "Desired Exhaust Back Pressure" tables (there are 12 of them) - the exhaust brake is always on
Changing Table 1 called "Desired Exhaust Back Pressure Hot Engine 1" - the exhaust brake never worked under any conditions
Changing Tables 1 and 2 ("Desired Exhaust Back Pressure Hot Engine 1" and "Desired Exhaust Back Pressure Hot Engine 2") - the exhaust brake worked all the time on all power levels once the engine reached about 150 degrees or hotter
Changing Tables 1 and 3 "Desired Exhaust Back Pressure Hot Engine 1" and "Desired Exhaust Back Pressure Hot Engine 3" - the exhaust brake never worked

Ok bringing this back up.
With the turbo folders. COLD engine is coolant temperature less than 130*F. WARM engine is 131*F-150*F. HOT engine is 150*F+. I also only had luck with engine 2 files working. Nothing with engine 1,3,or 4.
