Default 96 CCSB 05+ axle swap “build”

Sold my 6.4 a few weeks ago, through “Diesel Sellerz” actually. Guy flew down from Vermont and scooped it up.

I’ve been planning on “building” an OBS for a few months. Finally found a 96 CCSB 4x4 F250 all stock with just a Magnaflow muffler. No cracks in the dash, no paint flaws, and no tears in the seat. Was already kept in a car port or garage. So I was pretty excited.

I bought some 05 axles a month ago, and slowly started stocking up on parts. Picked up a 4in lift kit, OEM coil buckets, OEM radius arm mounts, and just needed to figure out my front 4Link, the rest would be sourced from RYD.

I picked up the set of wheels and tires I wanted last weekend... and just by looking at it... they aren’t going to fit... and I’m going to have to go
Up... a lot.

So I we’ll have a ton of OEM stuff for sale... and I’ll be doing a 8-10 coil over up front, and the rear to match height, but on leafs.

I’ll try and keep this thread as updated as possible!

Attached is a photo of it when I brought her home, followed by the removal of steps, and a quick wax!

Nice find! I did this axle swap a couple years ago for a buddy. If you have any questions hit me up. It’s a lot of work that’s for sure.

Thank you!

Webb, I plan on using the majority of RYD stuff. With the help of some PMF products.

Looks good, I wished I would have done the 05 swap instead of the RSK, Looking forward to your progress

Since the last post, the truck has received the 3in mini leaf pack “leveling kit” that includes the drop brackets for the TTB and been aligned, requiring a 2° alignment bushing since a 1° was already installed and couldn’t get the alignment zeroed in.

Also, I started to clean up the welds that will be going on until I can get the axles under the truck.

I started to destroy the surface rust on the frame with a grinder and wire wheel, followed by a simple green bath, and hand towel dry

Then I used Krylon Pro Satin black, referred to by a paint and body friend of mine, and applied 2 coats. So far, so good!

On another positive note, Diamond Eye sponsored the truck build with a full exhaust!

On a not so positive note, I endo’d my YZ 450 at the track Sunday, and fractured 3 vertebrae..

How bad are you laid up with broken back? Sorry to hear about your injuries.
