Been awhile since I've done any updates on here since my last build thread "6.4 pull truck mild build". That truck has since been retired from pulling for the last year since I started on a new build for a full time puller. Here's pics of the old truck. Which the built motor is coming out of and being replaced with a stock 6.4 engine. The built motor will be going in the new pull truck. The old pull truck will become the tow pig for the new pull truck
The new pull truck is an 08 F350 base model XL super cab long box. Bought as a rolling chassis no motor or trans, had a Dana 80 dually rear diff put in. Bought the truck around this time last year but since have moved and had a 2 bay 30x30 shop built with a 2 post hoist which took a few months to build so the pull truck build was put off until this summer. Wasn't going to make any pulls this year with the amount of work needed for the new truck so have been slowly working on it the last few weeks. Plan on having it ready for next spring.
When I bought the truck last year
The truck finally made it into the shop a few weeks ago and began tear down. Lots of rust to fix. Pretty much a full restoration needed as the truck has had a hard 600,000km life of hauling scrap batteries around before I got it
Have done some sandblasting on the cab since then. This weekend hopefully will be lifting the cab off the frame to be able to finish sandblasting the underside of the cab. And getting the rolling frame ready to be blasted and a fresh coat of paint on the frame
