I didn't see a thread dedicated to trailers. If this isn't the proper location, feel free to move it as appropriate. I thought it would be nice to have a thread dedicated to the trailers we have and their specs along with likes/dislikes to be an aid for those in the market for a new or used trailer or looking for upgrades to make theirs better for their needs.

2013 CenTex 22+2 with 6" channel frame, 3" channel crossmembers on 24" centers. Purchased used, but in practically new condition in July 2014. Added rub rail with chain spools and drive-over fenders made of 15.3# 10" channel. Also built light pockets out of 3/16" DP for rubber-mount LEDs and hung the license plate on a hinge. Also welded in a D-ring in the neck to hook the safety chains to when it's being used behind a tractor. It's a good trailer for what we paid, but definitely has its limitations and worlds better than what it replaced:

2011 TrailerMann Low Pro 27'+5' dual 12k lb axles. I bought it new for roughly $9k.

Pros: pulls straight and smooth
Very well built
Love the low deck height
Painted finish and is holding up great
Wiring is tucked up nice and tight

Cons: should've got a 40' trailer
wish it had 2 40" ramps instead of 3 narrower ones
Hate the low dovetail, drags quite often
Chain box is to small

Over all I'm pleased with it. I've loaded it to the max with zero issues. I have a set of under body boxes I've just been to lazy to install.

Good timing. I'm in the market for a 30-34' gooseneck with tandem duals. Would like to see everyone's and hear there opinions. Anyone have a load trail?

24+5 Top Hat, I don't have any complaints other than I would like about a 30+ footer with 12k axles.

Here's a dump trailer we just picked up, not sure on the total length but the box is 20' long. It's a lot more stable than the other trailer. It's a Texas Pride brand which seems to be built really well. It handled 2 skid steers with my attachments no problem.

Yup. 30', tandem dual. Heavy b!tch, but it works.

Any problems at all with it? I saw on another forum that a couple people found bad welds and peeling paint on theirs. Debating between that and a PJ maybe.

I have both brands. Different weights.
Both have peeling paint, but they're both ten years old, in Michigan, lol. Both have been good trailers, well built. I'd but either, again.

I have a 2008 Brute 23+5 lo pro. Dual 10k Dexter axles, 12k suspension, cross members on 12" centers, torque tube, 2 flip ramps with a lift up center, 24,999gvwr. 8800lb empty.

Pros:
-Built tough, doesn't matter what you put on it, it doesn't care one bit. No flex, no twist, nothing.
-Pulls nice and is well balanced empty.

Cons:
-Heavy
-Dovetail is very high. Hardly ever drags but makes for steep ramps.

I can't say anything about paint quality. I bought the trailer used and it had already been repainted once at that point. However the trailer was previously used by a freight company and I was told it had an easy 100k or more miles on it when I got it. It's spent it's entire life in the midwest and used during the winter so I can't complain to much. I've probably put 40k or more on it since I bought it and still no problems.

The farm I work for has a 2013 or 2014 30+5 Big Flex.. I mean Big Tex
10k axles, lo pro, 2 flip ramps with a lift up center.

Pros:

-Cheap, or that's all I can figure from looking at it.
-Very low dove tail, loading angle is very nice for running tracked skid steers up and down the ramps. Mine is scary to load, their trailer is a walk in the park.

Cons:

-Paint/Powdercoating sucks. It gets used hard, but it looks like it's 10 years old already.
-Low dovetail, drags on EVERYTHING. I mean everything, it spends more time touching the ground then the tires do.
-Wiring looks like a blind 10yr old did it without anyone helping him. I usually spend several hours multiple times a year messing with the wiring on it or repairing problems. The brakes have been rewired multiple times already. The factory butt connectors look like they were barely crimped, wires are always pulling out of the connectors anywhere on the trailer that hasn't been repaired by us already.
-The lift up center in the rear has had the hinges reworked a couple times to keep them from failing. They lasted about a month when we first got the trailer.
-The ramps must be built from the lightest angle iron they could find.

Things I would suggest to those buying a trailer:

Get heavier axles then you think you need. If you think you are ok with 10k, get 12k. I have 10k and wish I had 15k's

If you can get electric over hydraulic brakes, do it. Electric drum brakes are a sad excuse for trailer brakes. 10k and 12k trailers with EOH brakes get disc brakes. 15k axles get EOH drum brakes.

Get the ratchet rail with the sliding binders down the side of the trailer. They take 4" straps but are great. You can use them with 2" straps just things can get a little tangled up at times.

Get a few extra lights, you don't need 100 of them down the side but 5 or 7 compared to the normal 3 looks nicer. My next trailer will have a light every 18" down both sides.

Get a nice underbody box for your straps. Nothing is more annoying then having chains, binders, straps, and ratchets all in one big tangled mess in the front chain box. On my trailer chains and binders go in the box between the neck up rights. Straps get rolled up and put in a milk crate, ratchets fold shut then put them in a separate milk crate. 4" straps get wound up and stacked next to the milk crates in the side box.

A deck up on the neck is handy. It's nice for taking along that extra skid steer bucket or set of forks but not having to move them on/off the deck all day if you're hauling bales or moving multiple machines at once. It also doubles as a good place to watch a truck and tractor pull from.

A winch on the neck might be hardly ever used but it's the handiest thing in the world when you need one.

Dual jacks, it's nice being able to unhook the trailer loaded and not wonder if it's going to tip over or sink to china.

Get a torque tube down the center of the trailer frame. They help tremendously with trailer flex and twist.

I have a 2013 30 ft trailerman low pro dual 10k axles and a hydro dove. The dove is awesome the trailer is 21+9 so the loading angle is nice but it's far enough off the ground to not drag. What I don't like about it weights 7500 empty so it's not exactly light. I think a 35 ft trailer would be better since this one really can start bouncing the truck since of the weight of the tail when the trailer is empty. I wish I would of ordered electric over hydraulic breaks and jacks too. So the next one will probably have 12ks u dear it be 35ft long and have all the rest of the options. Over all I really like the trailer pulls straight does well with a good load on it paint is holding up well and over all a well built trailer.

I have two Cam tilt trailers I really like. This one is a 14'+2' stationary up front 14k gvw

IMAG0032.jpg

The other is a 18'+3' stationary up front and 19k gvw. Both have been extremely good trailers.

Then I have a 36ft Car-mate enclosed. 3-7k axles. Extra floor bracing, 8k rear door, +18" height, insulated, led lights. one of the nicest most sturdy enclosed I have ever owned.

Featherlite 28+4. Dual jacks & 10k axles. Not a bad trailer, but heavy. Doesn't flex too bad, pulls nice loaded or empty. I bought it used, but paint has held up well for being in Iowa. I would look into buying another if I was in the market.

BigTex 18+2 with fold up ramps. 7k axles. Hasn't been used too hard, but does well for us on our farm. Good trailer for the price.
