He said the "pull over safely" message popped up and now it won't crank. He's sitting on the side of the road now and unfortunately I'm useless when it comes to a 6.4. I assume he won't know without scanning codes. Any ideas?

Thanks

was there any smoke prior to it stalling?

was it knocking?

under what condition did it fail, up a grade? 80% throttle? towing?

my guess is it broke a rocker arm or melted a piston.

Thanks for the info guys. I should have put some more up about the truck. its a 2008 bone stock. No smoke, no knocking, 1/2 throttle, slight grade pulling a 20' box trailer.

My 6.4 starts and dies a few times and then runs fine. Seems to happen on first start after sitting. Died going down the road before it was warmed up. Any ideas?
