1974 F100 4x4

Picking up a 1974 F100 thus week. 360FE , should be a C6 tranny. Married NP205 transfer case. Haven't got to play with it yet but the guy I'm buying it from said the transfer case won't shift in to 4WD. I don't have a lot of experience with older 4wd Fords. What do you think it could be? I guess I'll have a better idea once I get the truck in my possession but any ideas could help. Thanks

sometimes they are picky and need to be in neutral but most likely the linkage is froze up and just needs some persuasion to free it up. or worst is something inside is busted. drop the case and put a new one in. they are easy to drop and change

Picked it up, fiddled with it and wouldn't ya know it. 4wd does work. Haha.

Gotta love a simple fix lol what's your plans for it now?

Get it cleaned up , swap motors from my '76. Swap beds. And drive it! Restore bit by bit
