Or does anybody in the hedgesville/inwood area have an automatic transmission for my truck that I can swap in while I'm here and leave the core for the person who gives me a replacement transmission as payment

just off the top of my head your going to need the brake sled w/3rd peddel, slave setup and trans, probably a new driveshaft, shifter, and other odd and ends. it probably will be cheaper to just find a used auto trans and swap it in.

I just did this swap. For an extended cab long bed,
  • trans (free)
  • pedals 100
  • shifter 60
  • boot 50
  • knob 25
  • clutch (solid flywheel) 275
  • trans mt and crossmember (m5od/c6 xmbr) 100
  • clutch hydraulics 65
  • driveshaft lengthened w new carrier (275)

Drives great, bit even with a free trans ended up pricey. My e4od was done for, even though truck only has 109,000 on it. Glad did swap though

I have found everything minus the driveshaft for $450 and trans only has 40k miles on it since it was last rebuilt
