Motor will be good. I believe that trans will be junk though, as far as for a work truck, or high hp truck. To my understanding, if it comes out of a school but, it is not as well built as the trans that are in the light duty trucks.

It would have an SAE bellhousing though and if you could get an air compressor hooked up with a small air tank, it would be sweet to throw a small 10 or super 10 speed behind it. It apears to be slightly different than the pickup motor though in that the egr is different and the turbo(S) don't look right. Maybe someone else will chime in that knows more

this is the same thing that they are puttng in Motorhomes. Navistar which owns Workhorse chassis and Monaco's roadmaster chassis. GM quit building the 8.1l gasser so Navister replaced 8.1L with the Maxxforce 7 (6.4L)
Just got a letter from Navistar looks bleak for the Workhorse chassis in near future for both Motorhome and commercial.
