MPG major loss?

Brakes can drag, calipers stick all the time, either the piston is sticking, or the slides arent lubed up, and causes the pads to not disengage from the rotor. I had 2 calipers sticking on a truck i had, didnt see or smell anything, and was getting 8mpg. An Infrared thermometer showed the front right and left rear were about 100* hotter than the other 2 brake assemblies. Which was from calipers sticking. I ended up just doing a full brake job and my MPG bumped up to 12mpg. (This was on a big lifted V8 gas truck).

Also wheel bearings being good helps. Just redid mine and my rear end bearing were toast. Found 1 mpg better from changing them. I drive 50/50 city and hwy and get about 12 mpg now that I fixed a fuel leak from my fuel pressure regulator. Was seeing 9 for a while. 96 f250 4x4 with 36" super swampers with 4:10s
