Retrofitted H1 Projectors

Here's my latest upgrade. I wasn't too happy about my previous ebay clear corners only lasting about a year before yellowing. I decided to retrofit projectors while I was changing them out. I used my existing retro-solutions digital ballasts with new 55w 4300k H1 bulbs. The output, beam pattern and cutoff all exceeded my expectations.

I should note that the cutoff only looks higher on the drivers side, and just high in general ,due to the slant of the pavement I was on.

Yea I believe 35w is recommended. Maybe bulb life will be reduced, maybe not. We'll see, as the days get shorter I'll be using these alot.

Wicked, you ebay ones yellowed quickly. Which housings did you use this time around? I like the little bit of yellow still in the signal, dont like them completely clear.

Actually my eBay headlights didn't yellow at all, the side markers were quite yellow, and the bumper lights were yellowing. From the stampings on my new set they look to be from the same factory. I'm hoping the headlights stay clear given the effort of retrofitting. Still, annual changes for the side marker and bumper lights sucks.

Headlights look good! I have the black version and my headlights are still good and the side markers are yellowed and look like crap apparently they use two different kinds of plastics.

And you got the new ones from ebay again?
Yes, as far as a I know there is no better place to get them for cheap. It doesn't matter what "brand" you get, there's only one or two factories in Asia making these things.

Thanks! I suppose not having to swap the headlights will be ok. However, it's still a pain pulling the batteries to get those nuts on the back of the bumper lights.

Thank you. Yes it is a pain, you can also get them from below if you take off the body metal skirt thing. 7/16's ratchet wrench from below and you can get them pretty quick for future reference if you dont want to pull batts.

I got everything from retro-solutions. Already had the bi-xenon hid kit for them (9007 replacement) so I just ordered the correct H1 bulbs for the projectors. High beam solenoid wires connected right to the ballast wiring. Here's the eBay units I got for like 84 bucks: http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=181409095845&alt=web

Looks like this is the kit ?

If 9007/HB5 is the stock replacement. If you are doing projectors you'll need H1. The 9007 kit comes with a plug n play relay harness, I think that's why its $15 extra.

Sorry for the confusion. Just do it all on the projector ordering page. In the pull down menus select the color and wattage of the HIDs you want, and under the wiring harness menu select the 9007 bixenon.
