I'm running the Rigid D2's in my fogs and they are plenty bright.

I will be doing a retro fit with the new h1 ver.7's from the retrofit source as soon as it gets to me in the mail. HID's in stock housings suck, I hate mine but have lived with them until now. The biggest problem with hid's are the low quality ones out there putting less light out then standard bulbs. LED's are a major upgrade over stock and hids in stock housings but the gold standard to me is a good projector (not a ebay projector light) and a good hid bulb and ballast. Tough to beat once it is aimed correctly.
