I found a 01 F350 EC 2wd auto with 300,000 on it. Starts good, runs good, no warning lights, trans shifts good, AC not as cold as should be. Has an oil leak, been leaking a while I'm guessing off the back of motor so maybe an oil pump issue? Has a little gray smoke when running. It was a trade in and the dealer said I can have it for the 3000 he gave the guy for it. Trying to decide if its worth it. Opinion?

Well I missed it! Going to look at another one tomorrow, it's a dually which I really didn't want but it's 5000 and looks like a nicer truck with fewer miles.

Do your research on these. They're good engines if they've been serviced right and treated right. Do you know how to check blow by? Be prepared to spend a little money if it hasn't had updates like suspension, bearings, seals in axles etc..... lots of good info on here. Good luck happy shopping!

Common leak is from the turbo pedistal on the 7.3. Stock turbo?

When it is running pull off the oil fill cap, some even escaping vapor is OK. If it is chugging like a freight train then walk away, it has a bad cylinder.
