I figured I'd share my brothers and I project in the hopes it will drum up a sale, we bought this white 2-70 two weekends ago with a blown head gasket and looking in pretty ruff shape. Last week we send the head out to get machined and found it needed new valves so we had new valves put in along with new push rods, we bought new injector, we had the radiator clean along with the hydraulic coolers, we got new 3 rib tire put on the front, bought new gauges, new thermostat, new battery, new battery box, filters, fluids, sheet metal, new muffler, new metal hood (instead of that crap fiberglass one), paint, a couple lights, and a few other things I'm forgetting about. So far this week we have got the head back and put on the tractor, got the radiator back, and have also got the coolers back. The game plan is to get the tractor back running Saturday with all the new fluids in it and then use it for a couple hours to make sure everything is good before getting it prepped for primer on Sunday. If everything works out we should have the tractor running and operating like new in the next 2 weeks and then we will be selling it; if anybody is interested in buying it send me a private message.

Pretty much how it currently sits other than the fender is off, and you can see the 1850 Cockshutt which will be the next project in line.

Had two of these beasts when I was younger. They were our baling tractors. I spend a lot of time sleeping on those fenders and then, when I was old enough, driving them. We got rid of ours when they had around 7000 hours.

My brother has a 1655 oliver which is the same tractor and we love using it on the farm, they really are good all around tractors. I think his 1655 has around 7400hrs and this white has like 7100hrs (with a working tach). Here's a picture of my brothers 1655 he redid.

We have the tractor ready for paint prep if it ever stops raining and the sheet metal is at the professional painters place so hopefully that will be done soon. We also got our hood back which we had made of metal since the factory fiber glass one is junk and I must say this metal 16ga hood is 10x better than that factory crap.

My brother has been hard at getting the tractor painted, we still have to paint the rims and a few small items and then it will be done.

Been awhile since I posted anything, we got busy on the farm this summer so it sat in the paint position for awhile with no work being done, we started working on it again last weekend. Hopefully should be done this weekend. A little update, all the sheet metal is painted, I found out that the stripes I ordered for the sides were the wrong color and the wrong length so I had to go with a the large red stripe even though it isn't a red strip tractor. We have the fenders on and bought all Stainless steel bolts for the sheet metal. I had some guys at work help me fix the cracked and cobbed together hitch. We did decide on a price if anybody is interested $9500 Obo. We feel it's a fair price for all the work we put in it and how well the tractor operates.

Stripes are on, rear tires are on, hitch is on, intake is together, basicly need to finish the wiring in the fenders, put the sheet metal on, and touch up the paint here and there.

We didn't get much done this weekend, went up to Michigan and bought an 1850 which was suppose to have a blown head gasket, but the one Pistons is destroyed so it needs a rebuilt. I did button up the sheet metal and my brother found out the water pump is bad so that needs replaced, hopefully maybe get somewhere next weekend.
