I have a 2008 F450 in my shop that has me 100% stumped.

Truck idles and drives fine at low throttle, 4-6psi of low fuel pressure.

Give it some power, low pressure spikes and pegs my gauge, the fuel gets pumped full of air (exhaust maybe?), And the truck drops rail psi and dies. Long crank time later and the air is bled out, starts and runs great until the next demand for power.

Is it possible to be getting exhaust kn the fuel from the injectors? Anyone ever seen this?

Could be getting combustion in it. Possible hold down backed out. Are you checking pressure at the schrader valve on the cooler, or another spot?

Schrader valve at the fuel cooler. Heard of it before?

Had one that wouldnt hardly run, did something similar, but smoked white out the tailpipe real bad. Guy did his own injectors and didnt torque any of them. 7 of the 8 were finger tight.

That’s so interesting. Wow.. Can you explain how this would get into the injector? Are you talking about the Torx bit hold down?
So if it’s loose where is the combustion entering? I’m confused.

If the injector isn't torqued down properly it will let combustion blow past the crush washer and aerate the return fuel going to the bowl and fill it with air. Thus shutting the truck off
