Slam door, kills engine

Ok, here's a weird issue that has me stumped. If one of the front doors on my wife's excursion is slammed hard the engine dies. If restarts and runs fine. It has happened three times now. I replaced the battery cables with a new set and everything is tight. Any ideas?

Chipped? I was having weird issues woth mine shutting off when I would hit bumps and stuff. I d check connection to your pcm

It's got an old school BD gold chip in it. I'll check that when I get home.

Not funny.
My radio and p/w shot off sometimes when the door is shut.
Then in a bit I'll here a click and they turn on. Weird.

My first thought was chip also. If it breaks connection at all the truck will shut off.

Your lucky it did not fry the chip and PCM at the same time. Glad you got it figured out.

Wasn't the chip being loose. Pulled the chip and it did it again when I hit a big bump. Gonna check the PCM connection when I get off work.

i had to have my pcm checked out cuz mine was doing the same thing.... the connections where the chip goes in where to wore out and needed built up so they built it up and no more problems... but with the chip out and its still doing it then prolly bad connection internally.
