These aren't as popular as they once were but they still make me laugh so I put one on. It's nowhere near my last K5LA set at 200 psi but it'll still wake up a texting driver and is about 1/6 the money I had tied up last time. I may swap the horns for a K3LA one day.

Anyway...I didn't want to take up any space under the bed so I built a mount to cram everything into the cavity between the bedsides on the front passenger side. I had to notch the mouth of one horn to fit everything into the space I had to work with but I'm happy with how it turned out. Nothing hangs below the bed so you can't tell anything is there.

For the air supply I prefer bed mounted. Everything stays clean and dry and I can't hear the compressor hardly at all when it's running. I mounted everything to a plate to mount inside my toolbox. All wiring has quick connects for easy removal if needed. I'm gonna make a removable cover this week at work to protect anything from junk sliding around in the box.

I'll add a pic once I get the cover built but that's it for now.

Nice. I like the reason you stated for installing them. And its much nicer than my idea of shooting out their front tires.

Clean install for sure... it looks like the shocker XL horns, Yes?

I recently watched a comparison video of a bunch of horn kits on YouTube after I seen you talk about the KL5A horns thinking I wanted them.
Now I believe you but the video showed only a slight advantage with the KL5A over shocker XL system and for the price that slight advantage it did not make sense for most people...

Now does that slight advantage on paper translate to huge gains to the ear, possible.

What size tank is that? I like the mounting you went with just not sure it's enough air for a decent blast time.

I had twin viair pumps in a 2.5 gallon tank and I felt it was not enough by a long shot..

What's your thoughts?
I ask cause it seems from Pervious posts iv seen from you that you don't do anything without knowing a good amount about it and have good info..

I do look forward to a video though to hear how they sound...

To me there's nothing like the sound of a real set in person. These are plenty loud though for sure. This is the Conductors Special 240 kit. 2 gallon tank and Viair 400 compressor. It's enough for a few short blasts and honestly that's about all I've ever done anyway. My last set I had a 5 gallon tank and with the port size on a K5LA it would drain super fast. I didn't want to give up a lot of space and this fit the bill just right.
It's definitely a money thing though...Nathan's look like they've actually gone up in price lately and I didn't want to sink thousands of dollars into another set.

Yea mine would kill a 5 gallon tank in no time flat. They're air hungry for sure.

Wow ok.. 5 and 12 gallon tanks getting drained quick is moving a lot of air.
I want to hear the KL5A in person one day cause I'm sure its world's different then listening to comparisons online.

Last kit I had was on a jeep so once I get squared away with the truck I'll be looking to add 1 possibly 2 sets of shocker XL horns depending on what all it will need to be done properly...
But that's to be figured out in good time...

Nice install Rich. I call them 'Tourist Movers'.

I'll be installing the set of air horns which I removed from my past truck; just need to wait for a season which is more appealing to working outside.

Great install. I had a set on my old truck....with the weak horn the SD's come with....there may be another purchase in my truck's future.

How do you activate them? A separate button or did you tie into the horn?

I slapped together a cover at lunch to keep things from getting beat up...even added some unnecessary vent holes in front of the compressor filter. lol
That's it...this project is done.
