So I just realized today that my hubs have been locked for who knows how long. Truck has developed a slight shake at low speed turning while the hubs are locked. Unlocked, no shake. What's the potential damage here?

Sometimes the axle joint will go bad and hang up. So when your going straight with the hubs locked in the u-joint doesn't have to swivel. But once you turn it has to swivel and then you start to feel the "vibration " because it doesn't want to swivel but your forcing it to so it has that funny feel in the steering wheel.

That sounds exactly like what's going on. Sonofabitch. Oh well, fix it and move on and learn from my stupidity.
