Is there any preference here toward ATI super dampers or Fluid dampr, and do any vendors sell them?
Going to need to replace mine, only thing that could be causing a vibration, all the pulleys are fine and the tensioner is brand new and fine.

I dont know all the issues you've had, other than what you've posted. Under what conditions do you have a vibration?
Both brands will do a good job, but neither will fix an underlying problem.

Idle. The tensioner is bouncing and making a clanging sound.

You can’t get one from Ford? Been awhile since I checked. It was $166 iirc.

Couldn’t find one in all my searching. Only aftermarket oem style and the fluid race style

Heard of a lot of problems with the fluid damper, something about the fluid settling and throwing the balance off, at least in higher hp situations. Read quite a few guys on here that had problems.

I'd recommend doing some more research, unless you just need a reason to by a different dampener. New/ aftermarket dampeners definitely have their place, but I doubt that's your issue.
Have you checked the simple things, i.e. cylinder contribution, injector balance, etc.?
Maybe by a junkyard one or Ebay special just compare to your current balancer.

I showed the truck to a guy who used to be a psd mechanic for ford and now owns his own shop. He thinks it’s the damper too *
It’s not so much a vibration as it is just a horrific noise as the tensioner beats itself up.

Save yourself headache and stick with oem. 8C3Z-6312-B - should be what you need. I also doubt that it’s going to fix your problem, but maybe you’ll get lucky.

So you guys think the tensioner bouncing is an internal engine issue? There’s no vibration, just the (brand new) tensioner shaking.

Two bolts were sheared off on the crank.

Brand new bolts when I replaced the seal.

Thinking either the balancer was bad and that broke the bolts, or something much worse. New balancer and ARP bolts as soon as I get these out.

Bent crank maybe? No other symptoms, truck ran great until/except for the rattle, no rattle before my rebuild.

FWIW I had an ATI on my 900whp 6.4...it never caused me an issue, I cracked my block which was due to other issues. I never had an issue with crank balance or the dampener itself.

Did you torque the crank bolts down to spec? 50ft/lbs then 90* iirc.
