Just curious what everyone towing heavier is doing on the highway. Towing 20k or so today the truck was very happy at 65-70 2200rpms in 5th gear. 6th gear was fine on flat ground or down hill but that was about it. Personally I would like to just leave it in 5th(auto shifting 1-5) and thats it. Anyone have any issues doing that?

It works well that way. I used to do it on my '12 all the time. Once I put 35s on it was better still dropped it another 100 rpm's and was nice. Under 15k I wouldn't even use tow haul I just run manual mode though. I hate it when it drops gears.

Not sure how much it effects it. But the truck has the superchips dpf on tow tune. I like it in the 1-5 auto mode. Anything over 2100 rpms it wont downshift full throttle.
