Fabbed up 1 of 2 gates today for my paddock. This one is a four footer.

Thanks man. That's one I had laying around and shortened it from 11' to 10'. It was pretty rusted out. I will eventually replace it with an aluminum one like the four footer.

I need to get a fab table at home. Trying to do this on the floor with a foot pedal sucks. Had to squeeze it between my knees. Maybe I should make something that straps around my inner thigh or just use a torch with a switch and just use a fixed amperage. Wasn't like I was varying the amperage until the taper at the end. Could just use the taper settings then.

Roller rocker my friend. People that do tons of aluminum use them exclusively.
Thanks! I think I've heard of them. Will check them out when I get a chance. I love doing aluminum. I want to make a toolbox for my truck instead of buying one. Need to get my water cooler built before I start running long beads like that though. Damn torch gets hot in no time.

Here is the miller unit. I assume it will mount to my CK torches.

Thanks man. Will definitely do that. I'm getting better, but need to focus on staying relaxed. Hard to do when your on your knees, bent over and trying to stay stable. Need to get one of those rocker switches and start playing with the 2t/4t settings.

That is a rocker switch for high frequency start. I have one on my machine at work. It is constant amp, works good for stainless pipe. Keeps the pecker tracks down. You need a rotary amperage control. They should all fit a standard 17 series to a 20 series torch. Ck, weld craft etc.

Got ya. You said roller rocker and wasn't sure if you were talking about a rocker switch, rotary switch or both in one package.

Been meaning to try one but not sure which one would have the best feel.

Both of those kind of feel the same, as you can spin them around the torch. Just zip tie them on and electrical tape the sh#t out of them to keep them from moving.
