valve ticking

My 95 is starting to make some pretty loud ticking noise when driving under load. I'm assuming valve tick? I can't hear it at idle, or when I rev it in neutral/park but as soon as its under load while driving I can hear it very clearly from about 1200 rpms and up. Would anyone have any insight?

Pre turbo exhaust leak? Checked up pipes for soot?

As mentioned above, and also check for a non-functioning injector (you should notice a "miss" in that case). Cheers!

Yes, I would be leaning towards an injector as well.

OP, how many miles are on the injectors?

A lot of people have trouble identifying a miss in a powerstroke. In this case I suspect a exhaust leak.
