Yeah, cwd is a really bad thing. I've heard it both ways in indiana, some info I read says it's here, other info says it's not in the state yet. If it is here it not very prominent......yet. also thought cwd was more of a summer thing. I've had 2 trail cams out in past years, time didn't allow me to put them out yet this year. Was watching a 8pt and doe yesterday morning from the house. I feel the rut is beginnig to take off! Temps have been going down consistently here, well below the norm for this time of year.

I guess we have cwd here in pa too. At least we have lots of warnings about it. Thereís also special precaution for killing an animal out of state such as an elk in Washington and transporting it back to your state. I donít think Iíve seen any that have it yet, canít say the warnings say anything other than when you cut it open itíll look like it has tuberculosis on the inside of the rib cage. I do know that water trucks got a 10 point buck this morning and Iím a little salty about it.

You see one with it, you'll know it. Trust me.

It's always been around, almost everywhere. I can remember 15-20 years ago hearing about it. First time I went to Colorado elk hunting they were making it mandatory to have them tested when you harvested one, and that was 15 years ago or so. I was always sort of torn on the validity of it, or at least the severity of how bad it was being made out to be. I still don't think it's as bad here as TWRA makes it out to be, but I guess that's their way of trying to stop the spread of it. Ted Nugent went on this long tirade last year about how it was all a conspiracy with insurance agencies and the likes. I think he was referring to it in his home state of Michigan though, but making statements as a whole. Basically insurance companies are tired of claims for damage from hitting deer, and were hoping for a mass cull to get population numbers down. Can't remember where I found that interview, it has to still be out there in Google land somewhere

joe rogan and steven rinella (meat eater) have some really interesting podcast episodes on CWD. Probably overhyped a bit but still incredible. I think jre also had steven rinella on and I think they covered it a bit in their conversation.
