So I have 2016 F350 crew cab with the sony and navigation system. I was online to crutchfield and did one of their chats and they recommended these upgrades:

206CWRT81 Kicker CompRT 43CWRT81 8" Dual 1-ohm Component Subwoofer
20641KS684 Kicker 41KSC684 6" x 8" 2-Way Speakers
20641KS684 Kicker 41KSC684 6" x 8" 2-Way Speakers
126CR3NGL Bojo ATH-CR3-NGL 3pc. Plastic Pry Tool Kit
206CXA3001 Kicker 43CXA3001 300W x 1 Car Amplifier
120V10RAK8 T-Spec Amplifier Wiring Kit 8ga Amplifier Kit w/ RCA
206CXARC Kicker 43CXARC Remote Control
120SW12WB1 T-SPEC Speaker Wire 12ga 1' Spkr Wire WHT/BLK per foot
161LC2IB AudioControl LC2i (black) OEM Line Converter
669PP605 Posi-Products Connector Kit 6 pieces Posi-Tap 16-18 Gauge

What do you guys think of this? It is only about 800 bucks and seems like it would be a decent upgrade. My only worry is the 8" sub not being enough for me. I listen to all kinds of music include rock, country and rap. What do you guys think?

I have the lc2i with 2 JL 10s and a JL ATV Amp that goes 300w @ 2ohms. Sounds much better than stock but nowhere close to a full system. My complaints are the lack of balance between subs and the rest of the system and lack of volume. I have aftermarket door and cab speakers but don't remember the brand, Kicker maybe. If you are like me this will work for a year and then you'll amplify the rest of your speakers and have to get a more complete system integration to really make everything sound good and balanced. I paid $180 for the 10WXv2's (pair) $170 for the JL HX300/1 $80 for the LC2i and the box from Fox was under $190. Everything was Crutchfield except the box.

If you have an amplified aftermarket sub and have upgraded 6x8's, the 6x8's need to be amplified as well to balance it all out. One 5 channel amp will work wonders on a simple setup like this.

What do you guys think about an 8" sub. I listen to a wide variety of music, do you think I should go to a 10" for rap or will the 8 be ok?

I'd go as big as you can unless space is a concern. You could put an 8 in a ported box to make it louder but 2 10s will be way better. If you use the factory head unit get the remote for the lc2 so you can adjust the bass volume for what type of music you are listening to. My next step will be glassing the back of the cab and building a custom box that will fit 12s.
