Tried hooking up an enclosed work trailer to my personal 2019 today and it would not recognize the trailer was hooked up and the trailer brakes would not release.

Have been pulling it with a 2016 f250 company truck regularly with no issues.

Anyone have any ideas what may be causing this?

Trailer brakes would not release? Most electric brakes need a signal (power) from the truck in order to apply. Did someone rewire the 2016 and the trailer? Or, you're missing the the plug for the breakaway switch.

I’ll have to check. All I know is the trailer pulls fine with the work truck but when I hook it up my own it does not recognize the trailer is there and the trailer wheels are locked up. Same thing happens my Boss’ 2020 f150.

I'd check the wiring on the plug for the trailer.

Sound like the battery charge wire and the trailer brake wire is swapped
