Just curious if anyone has run into this
I helped out a buddy who had a battery light issue,
Scanner said it was overcharging at about 15-17v
Brought in the alternator for repair, had worn brushes etc (needed a rebuild) and got it back, same issue.. so then I said must be a dead short in the battery..swapped in the batteries from my 6.4, worked for 30 minutes and then we said okay must be the batteries..
No luck after another 5 minutes battery light came back on

I finally “heard” my boss in my head saying “try a wiggle test” sure enough the wire to the alternator was making the alternator overcharge.

I took the terminal off the positive battery cable and wire brushed it and cleaned it up, put it back on and voila, problem solved.

Anyone have this issue? And or can they come up with an idea as to why there was either little or no resistance in the wire to cause so much current flow??

Thanks.
