OK after educating myself on the location (and identification) of these parts ...

I pulled the plug off the ICP sensor (injection control pressure sensor)
and indeed it was full of oil .... while I didn't have a puddle in the engine valley, I could clearly see oil residue in the vicinity...

stopped by the dealer and picked up a new (F6TZ-9F838-A) ICP sensor.

new one has a big 1-1/6 nut instead of the stock 5/8"
much easier...

truck started up normally... runs probably the same... ( my hopeful imagination thinks it sounds smoother but I'm probably wrong)

anyway....

taking it to work tonight.... it usually throws the "engine light" after it's been sitting for a while.... so we will see... fingers crossed.

as far as the EBP sensor and tube, the dealer has one in stock.... nice SS ...
didn't ask the price... my azz still hurts from the ICP

besides, the bottom nut looks like a real ball buster.... especially with my old style fisher plow frame...

I may have to tackle it from the top....
but yeah... I'd bet it's clogged or semi rotted....

maybe this weekend...

stay tuned...

thanks for the help.

Stock.

I bought the truck new

If this works, maybe I didn’t have to replace the cam position sensor after all..

But at least I have the most recent version of it and I kept the old one in the glove box for a spare.

It’s not essential to have the EBP tube hooked up. You could just unplug it and forget it.

Yea they really love those ICP sensors at the dealer. I got mine through a friend
that has a mechanics account with the dealer and gets a very reduced price.. It still
was high when I saw the "retail" price I could hardly believe it.

If the tube is clogged up you can remove it and spend some time running a wire through it along with some carb or brake cleaner to clean it out.

If the sensor is bad then you just need to replace it.

I’m gonna get after it this weekend...

How can you tell if the sensor is good/bad?

Stock tuning uses it. I wouldn't unhook it..

What would be harm in unplugging it?

I thought it was mainly so the truck warms up quicker ?

I also read something about shifting points but mine is a standard transmission...

Honestly I find it annoying sometimes when I leave the driveway trying to get up the road and that exhaust valve is closed...

Will Unplugging the sensor disable that?

I’ve also read that a clogged tube will affect fuel mileage

How and why??

No. Unplugging the valve does that

I don’t understand what you’re saying

Are you saying if the valve is unplugged that butterfly valve in the exhaust will stay shut 100% of the time?

Mine is plugged in right now and it will stay closed until the truck slightly warms up

It’s always been that way since I bought it

Unplugging the valve makes it open 100% and then it wont close. Or warm up as quick since that is what it is designed to do.

I have read that a clogged up tube could effect fuel mileage....

Is this because the valve could become partially closed?

Causing a restriction

The ebps doesn't control the ebpv. Lol.. ambient temps and throttle input control the valve
